The left will deny this, but I am confident they know exactly what they are doing! They word these phrases and their speeches in such a way that the uneducated society hears "Free Healthcare." Those on the poorer end of society (I am not saying every single poor person is this way, those I am speaking about are the entitlement mentality groups) that have been taught that the government owes them and that the government is there for the sole purpose of taking from the "rich", American's who have actually worked hard to get to where they are today, and giving them a check for doing absolutely nothing but staying home and having babies! There is a whole group of society that has been blindly enslaved by the liberal left. They were deceived into believing that the government was helping them by giving them government housing, food stamps, checks for unemployment and for single mothers, etc but in reality the people who did this were doing it to enslave an entire race of people that had gained their freedom, but in a newer more stealthy form of slavery. Gone are the iron shackles, now replaced with shackles to the mind and soul. The people who exist in this modern day form of slavery have been trapped and dumbed-down. They see no future for themselves and no way out of this cyclical society that they were born into. I believe that there are evil people in power who have tried to "brainwash" an entire demographic of society in an effort to gain power and now they are trying to take steps towards ultimate power. By the phrasing of slogans they have created a mass that believes the government will give them every single thing they want, they have allowed themselves to be bribed by their own money. As Alexis de Tocqueville said, "The America Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money." Well, right now we find a republic that is teetering on that very thing, we have allowed people to enter positions of power and bribe the public. However, this uneducated mass is not really listening to what is being said beneath these “cute” slogans.
"Healthcare for Everyone" is NOT free healthcare; this is simply the dismantling of private medicine and the government takeover of the private sector. Yes, I know Obama says you will have an option, but the point is once the "public option" is available it WILL destroy the private sector! As I listened to Obama speak last night, I heard some things that really stood out along these lines. He made statements that don't really line up with these individuals' view of "Healthcare for All" because you WILL have to pay for healthcare and the "public option" really isn’t an option according to what Obama is saying, calling it that just makes it sound better. The "public option" in reality will be forced on every single American and if you are not covered you will be punished and be forced to have coverage, even if you can't afford it! Ah, yes I can hear it now, the screams of the liberal left, "You are using fear and scare tactics!" Oh, but wait this is not what the conservatives are saying, no it is the "Almighty One", "Savior of Us All" that is saying these things in a Presidential Address. You will have to pay! You will be FORCED to have coverage!!!! If you still don't believe me, read the following excerpt from President Obama's speech:
"Now, even if we provide these affordable options, there may be those -- especially the young and the healthy -- who still want to take the risk and go without coverage. There may still be companies that refuse to do right by their workers by giving them coverage. The problem is, such irresponsible behavior costs all the rest of us money. If there are affordable options and people still don't sign up for health insurance, it means we pay for these people's expensive emergency room visits. If some businesses don't provide workers health care, it forces the rest of us to pick up the tab when their workers get sick, and gives those businesses an unfair advantage over their competitors. And unless everybody does their part, many of the insurance reforms we seek -- especially requiring insurance companies to cover preexisting conditions -- just can't be achieved.
And that's why under my plan, individuals will be required to carry basic health insurance -- just as most states require you to carry auto insurance. (Applause.) Likewise -- likewise, businesses will be required to either offer their workers health care, or chip in to help cover the cost of their workers. There will be a hardship waiver for those individuals who still can't afford coverage, and 95 percent of all small businesses, because of their size and narrow profit margin, would be exempt from these requirements. (Applause.) But we can't have large businesses and individuals who can afford coverage game the system by avoiding responsibility to themselves or their employees. Improving our health care system only works if everybody does their part.
And while there remain some significant details to be ironed out, I believe -- (laughter) -- I believe a broad consensus exists for the aspects of the plan I just outlined: consumer protections for those with insurance, an exchange that allows individuals and small businesses to purchase affordable coverage, and a requirement that people who can afford insurance get insurance.
And I have no doubt that these reforms would greatly benefit Americans from all walks of life, as well as the economy as a whole. Still, given all the misinformation that's been spread over the past few months, I realize -- (applause) -- I realize that many Americans have grown nervous about reform. So tonight I want to address some of the key controversies that are still out there.
Some of people's concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost. The best example is the claim made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but by prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Now, such a charge would be laughable if it weren't so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple. (Applause.)"
First off, if these people don't "choose" to be covered under the public option, then when they get sick it burdens the taxpayers into having to pay their expensive medical bills? Well, if they choose the public option, aren’t we (the tax payers) paying their expensive medicals bills anyway? I mean that is what it would be, so what is the big deal? What is the difference? I'll tell you what the big deal is, the big deal is that these socialists in office are hungry for power and by slowly blinding us to their attempts to seize ultimate power they have now risen to a position at which they are reaching to make one of their greatest attempts to seize power in the history of the United States!
Secondly, the accusation that certain people (aka conservatives) have made “bogus” claims and are trying “to kill reform at any cost” is complete lunacy itself! The conservative and moderate media and political leaders are not trying to kill reform, they are trying to stop a coup d’état. They are the TRUE warriors of freedom and liberty, not the un-American, sadistic humans they have been described to be. When these word by Obama pierced my ears I instantly felt my temperature rising as I thought to myself, “there are people in this country, right down the road from my house, who believe every single drop of poison that is coming out of this man’s mouth, and they are lapping it all up, not realizing that it is slowly killing them and their liberty!”
Lately, I find that no matter where I go, my views are seen as hate-filled and fear-mongering, yet the very things I and those who support the constitution are being accused of are in fact the very tactics that the left is using and people are so blinded to the truth that they can’t even seen what is right before them. I feel like Jefferson when he said, “My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!” I just pray that America wakes up before it is too late, I pray that the sunset of liberty, freedom, and democracy does not take place on our watch but that it burns brightly, so that our children, and our children’s children WILL know what it is like in an America that is free!

Daughter, Sounds like you could use a better class of people to relate to. There is not one single person in my life, including people I chat with out in public, who believes this president is not destroying this country.

Popeye, tell me about it! My close circle of friends mostly believe what you said, but I have a few close friends on the other end of the spectrum and "support the president." But my goodness the people I am around in classes, work, and other social outlets are very mixed up and confused!
