9/11 a National Day of Service?

"A controversy is brewing over President Obama's decision to remember 9/11 as a National Day of Service. Some critics believe that marking 9/11 as a day for volunteerism demeans the memory of the thousands who were killed by Muslim extremists on that fateful September morning." ... Well Gee Obama, why don't you go up to those who lost loved ones in that catastrophic morning and slap them right in the face! You are just trying to make us forget what happened that day, but I for one haven't forgotten the tormenting images ingrained in my head as I saw those towers fall and fear rushed through my body as I wondered if my world would ever be the same!

As I sit in my class I think to myself how ignorant my countrymen are, they haven't a clue about politics or anything for that matter. How can you live in a country and not really understand it's history, values, or foundation? All they see is what the government can give them...
