Close-Minded and Living in the Dark Ages?

The following is a debate which took place on a social network between myself and and a guy named Mike with some input from others...

aDaughterOfYaHWeH: “It’s not surprising that someone like a Mr. Beck is able to stir up a certain portion of [the American people]. … That’s been true throughout our history,” - Obama ... Really??? I love the implied spin on how it's only the right-wing extremests that Beck appeals to when in reality, if you view things from an unbiased point of view, there is a political shift taking place!

•                Mike: I am pretty non-partisan and I do not really consider myself and Glen Beck to be on the same plane of political existence. I am not saying Obama is non-partisan, just that I really do not consider Glen to be balanced.

•                aDaughterofYaHWeH:  Well, just yesterday on his show (see video link below for a 20 section of the show) he criticized BOTH GW Bush and Obama. He pointed out the errors that BOTH sides have made and took the middle ground and showed the error and mistakes that have been made by both Republicans and Democrats that have resulted in the current economic crisis... Honestly if you have a deep conviction of the importance of strict constuctionism and the study of the founding fathers and their ORIGINAL intent (not political spin that wants to rewrite history) then I don't see how you can not like, he literally teaches US History (my passion, so I'm very knowledgeable on the topic and glad someone ids out there taking the risk to teach the TRUTH about our history!) to the people, he is simply using his God-given talents to "restore honor" to America. America has literally nearly lost all of the honor and characteristics that once made us a great nation thanks to the progressives and their mission to establish revisionist history as "truth" and make the people believe their lies. You tell people lies consistently over a period of time they will begin to think they're truth, examples Soviet Union, Hitler's Germany, etc. That's why I am so happy someone is putting themselves out there to face persecution in order to shout the truth in hopes of preserving truth and liberty!
•                 Mike:  Well I personally have always favored European history. But what I can say here, as I sip my Scottish Whiskey is that I too believe in a strictly enforced constitution, even amendments such as the second which I do not personally believe in but should be upheld to support the overall document. However, I do not feel the personal beliefs of the founding fathers are not relevant since they are their personal beliefs and would have inserted them into the constitution themselves had they thought we should follow them as a country. I am not sure what lies you are referring to about Hitler since he was pretty clear about most everything in Mein Kampf. So I would place that whole situation as a society wrapped up in reactionary thought, nationalism, and an economic crises; similar to post 911 but by no means a equal comparison. Lastly, just because someone criticizes people of both parties by no means makes them non-partisan or lacking bias. A person can be so one sided or radical to where they will support whatever party suits single that belief, or support none at all to uphold that belief.

•                  aDaughterofYaHWeH: Lies from Hitler, haha well the whole ideology of Jews being a danger to society -- People literally feared Jews, Homosexuals, mentally disabled, etc because they were told through propaganda that they were "stealing" from the people and were corrupting the society... Holocaust History is another one of my passions, I have done deep studies on it as well as European History -- which I have studied from a young age because I grew up traveling over the entire continent of europe as I sipped my espresso at a sidewalk cafe! History from all ages teaches us things about people in general, the fall of great societies such as Greece, Rome, etc all have patterns that can be reflected upon for understanding cycles of societies and empires. ... Non-partisan is, for most people, simply a way of "not offending" people by not holding on to a core beliefs system... Like the person that says they believe in a higher power but they just don't think any religion has it figured out, so they believe in a "higher power" but they are a non-conformist.... I don't care what you believe as long as you have the backbone to stand up for what you believe in instead of cop'n out and taking the non-partisan route.... I technically would be "non-partisan" because I don't agree with either side on certain subjects and have my core beliefs and really I consider myself a "strict-constructionist." That being said, for voting purposes and such I am a registered Republican, because some polls and such only accept Dems or repubs and not indep. For the most part I have similarities to the GOP and many of the candidates support the important issues I believe in, not always because no one is perfect, but for the most part. Anyway I'm peace'n out I have to go ..... END OF DISCUSSION! It is pointless to debate, I'm not compromising my beliefs so there is no point in further arguing!

•                Mike: Well I could not lock you down in debate or dislike your beliefs. But when a person shuts down to various viewpoints and ideas they close their mind to the world may again enter the dark ages. For debate between two open minds is the way to find truth and a better world.  “Compromise, if not the spice of life, is its solidity. It is what makes nations great and marriages happy.”

•                aDaughterofYaHWeH: I'm not closing down my mind .... Truth never waivers, it is not "debatable" and it can't be compromised, once compromised it no longer remains truth, simply an idea. Many of my political views are direct relation to my religious views. And I guess if I simply believed in the Christian God, because that's what I had been taught and read about my whole life and he was nothing more than a story or idea like many other past religions then I could have an open mind to debate because I wouldn't have a conviction of what truth is in my heart, I would still be searching. But when you have seen supernatural things -- people's limbs grow where they were missing, people healed of terminal cancer where the doctors atate they cannont explain it scientifically it must be a miracle, deaf people regain their hearing, the blind see, etc .... You begin to realize there really is truth and it isn't something that can be debated, that is why I am so firm in my beliefs....  And really, I hate the term "open-minded" because it doesn't REALLY mean being open minded, it means being open to everything utside of christianity and conservatism.... And people who claim to be "open-minded" aren't really... Yeah they're open to islam, buddhism, new age, atheism, liberation theology, communism, socialism, liberalism, etc BUT they're not really open to conservative and judeo-christian ideologies. One of my closest friends is an extreme liberal, so it is not that I hate the other side I just hate the beliefs not the people...And I have discussions with my friends, but I really don't know you and you're not going to change, I'm not going to change and really you obviously just like the spirit of debate and it has nothing to do with open-mindedness, if you really were open-minded you wouldn't have said anything and you would accept my views as my right to believe the way I want and feel convicted to believe and not make hypocritical judgements of me as being "close-minded" and living in the "dark ages" because I simply don't want to waste my day talking to someone who is simply a fb "friend" and not someone I have a personal relationship with. I have class and must go. I'm done with this conversation I have much better things to do with my day!

•                Shay: To bring closure to this debate which has reached the atrocious depths of ad hominem, might I state that It is aDaughterOfYaWHeH's right to believe what she wants and state those beliefs. It is protected under the First Amendment. Her statement was general and not directed toward any single person. It is simply her beliefs. And Yes, she does hold to her beliefs and is not easily swayed. Might I also say that...technically... every person is "close minded" who holds to any truths. Whoever believes in something and hold to that belief (whether their belief "accepts" that of others or rejects that of others) is "close minded." We accept your right, Mike, to state your beliefs. You must also accept ours.  In closing, I will state that... Glenn Beck is a genius!!!! :)

•                Mike: I am not sure what I said that would make you think that I would not change my mind or be closed minded, in itself that would be contradictory towards my open minded belief. :)  Any who, I think this is a great discussion that shows a lot abo ut our country and different view points within its borders so I am making it a post on Facebook. Even if you did not enjoy this short time out of your day discussing, I sure did and do not consider it at all a waste. Learning about others is not only a key part of society but also religion (even though I am not totally sure how religion was brought into it.

•                Tommy: Beck considers himself an entertainer and is more focused on ratings than truth

•                Lars: Well, as I've always asserted, the best thing about this country is that we can have these kind of debates and look, no one's busting down our doors. No one's bringing us to the gallows because of our differences of opinion. The First Amendment pretty much kicks ass.  Now, that being said, by putting out beliefs in a political forum such as Facebook, you are opening yourself and your thoughts up for debate. The First Amendment that protects your right to freedom of speech and opinion also protects those who do not agree with you to voice their opinion as well. I know you're not trying to stir stuff up, Jess:) But if it's out there on this vast social network, people are going to take notice and people are going to disagree, and that's just the price of political and social freedom.  I agree with Tommy, though. Anyone on cable news is just in it for ratings. That's not just directed at Glenn Beck. Everyone on Fox News, Headline News, msNBC; they're all guilty of sensationalism and need to be taken with the grain of salt...a MASSIVE grain of salt. News media no longer reports news, but instead reports things that will scare the crap out of their viewers in order to make them watch more and buy more and consume more.  Fear, not love or kindness or peace, sells more in the end. It's a sad thing to say, but that's the truth. News agencies figured that out years ago. Why aren't there any more "slow news" days, where things are just ok and there's nothing to report but a local bingo game? Because "slow news" days don't draw viewers and don't sell ads.  Yes, things aren't terrific right now, but this is in no way the worst time in our country that it's being made out to be. The worst time would be during the Great Depression, or any of the World Wars or during attacks on our soil, or when minorities were segregated in our country (a fight that we are still facing today), or when a hurricane exposed the gross misconduct of our leaders and turned part of our country into the Third World.  Times are tough, and they're going to get tougher if we keep focusing on the negatives. If you act the part long enough, then you will eventually become the part. It's time to turn down the pundits microphones and find something worth listening to.

Those of you who think liberals stand for civil rights need a history lesson, you are the product of a progressive era education system that wants to re-write history to match it's ideas and agendas.
I see people who are so ignorant and uneducated that they believe anything they hear from the political news media or with a beer in hand at drunk-chats with equally uneducated individuals, rather than educating themselves by doing research. I become angered when I get accused of being that way, I do not turn to "fox noise" for my knowledge, contrary to popular, liberal belief. I actually stay up to all hours of the night researching through primary documents, not biased second-hand sources, the truth about topics of historical, governmental, and political importance!

The following atricle is actual something I have been passionate about for years, I have done my own research on this topic for many years. I just think this sums up the facts very well, and it saves me the time of typing it myself! I'm tired of watching people live in the dark on the truth of American history! Why Martin Luther King Was Republican by Frances Rice

It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.

It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860s, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950s and 1960s.

During the civil rights era of the 1960s, Dr. King was fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned skin-burning fire hoses on blacks and let loose vicious dogs. It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who pushed to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools. President Eisenhower also appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court, which resulted in the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision ending school segregation. Much is made of Democrat President Harry Truman's issuing an Executive Order in 1948 to desegregate the military. Not mentioned is the fact that it was Eisenhower who actually took action to effectively end segregation in the military.

Democrat President John F. Kennedy is lauded as a proponent of civil rights. However, Kennedy voted against the 1957 Civil Rights Act while he was a senator, as did Democrat Sen. Al Gore Sr. And after he became President, Kennedy was opposed to the 1963 March on Washington by Dr. King that was organized by A. Phillip Randolph, who was a black Republican. President Kennedy, through his brother Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy, had Dr. King wiretapped and investigated by the FBI on suspicion of being a Communist in order to undermine Dr. King.

In March of 1968, while referring to Dr. King's leaving Memphis, Tenn., after riots broke out where a teenager was killed, Democrat Sen. Robert Byrd (W.Va.), a former member of the Ku Klux Klan, called Dr. King a "trouble-maker" who starts trouble, but runs like a coward after trouble is ignited. A few weeks later, Dr. King returned to Memphis and was assassinated on April 4, 1968.

Given the circumstances of that era, it is understandable why Dr. King was a Republican. It was the Republicans who fought to free blacks from slavery and amended the Constitution to grant blacks freedom (13th Amendment), citizenship (14th Amendment) and the right to vote (15th Amendment). Republicans passed the civil rights laws of the 1860s, including the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and the Reconstruction Act of 1867 that was designed to establish a new government system in the Democrat-controlled South, one that was fair to blacks. Republicans also started the NAACP and affirmative action with Republican President Richard Nixon's 1969 Philadelphia Plan (crafted by black Republican Art Fletcher) that set the nation's fist goals and timetables. Although affirmative action now has been turned by the Democrats into an unfair quota system, affirmative action was begun by Nixon to counter the harm caused to blacks when Democrat President Woodrow Wilson in 1912 kicked all of the blacks out of federal government jobs.

Few black Americans know that it was Republicans who founded the Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Unknown also is the fact that Republican Sen. Everett Dirksen from Illinois was key to the passage of civil rights legislation in 1957, 1960, 1964 and 1965. Not mentioned in recent media stories about extension of the 1965 Voting Rights Act is the fact that Dirksen wrote the language for the bill. Dirksen also crafted the language for the Civil Rights Act of 1968 which prohibited discrimination in housing. President Lyndon Johnson could not have achieved passage of civil rights legislation without the support of Republicans.

Critics of Republican Sen. Barry Goldwater, who ran for President against Johnson in 1964, ignore the fact that Goldwater wanted to force the Democrats in the South to stop passing discriminatory laws and thus end the need to continuously enact federal civil rights legislation.

Those who wrongly criticize Goldwater also ignore the fact that Johnson, in his 4,500 State of the Union Address delivered on Jan. 4, 1965, mentioned scores of topics for federal action, but only 35 words were devoted to civil rights. He did not mention one word about voting rights. Then in 1967, showing his anger with Dr. King's protest against the Vietnam War, Johnson referred to Dr. King as "that Nigger preacher."

Contrary to the false assertions by Democrats, the racist "Dixiecrats" did not all migrate to the Republican Party. "Dixiecrats" declared that they would rather vote for a "yellow dog" than vote for a Republican because the Republican Party was know as the party for blacks. Today, some of those "Dixiecrats" continue their political careers as Democrats, including Robert Byrd, who is well known for having been a "Keagle" in the Ku Klux Klan.

Another former "Dixiecrat" is former Democrat Sen. Ernest Hollings, who put up the Confederate flag over the state Capitol when he was the governor of South Carolina. There was no public outcry when Democrat Sen. Christopher Dodd praised Byrd as someone who would have been "a great senator for any moment," including the Civil War. Yet Democrats denounced then-Senate GOP leader Trent Lott for his remarks about Sen. Strom Thurmond (R.-S.C.). Thurmond was never in the Ku Klux Klan and defended blacks against lynching and the discriminatory poll taxes imposed on blacks by Democrats. If Byrd and Thurmond were alive during the Civil War, and Byrd had his way, Thurmond would have been lynched.

The 30-year odyssey of the South switching to the Republican Party began in the 1970s with President Richard Nixon's "Southern Strategy," which was an effort on the part of Nixon to get Christians in the South to stop voting for Democrats who did not share their values and were still discriminating against their fellow Christians who happened to be black. Georgia did not switch until 2002, and some Southern states, including Louisiana, are still controlled by Democrats.

Today, Democrats, in pursuit of their socialist agenda, are fighting to keep blacks poor, angry and voting for Democrats. Examples of how egregiously Democrats act to keep blacks in poverty are numerous.

After wrongly convincing black Americans that a minimum wage increase was a good thing, the Democrats on August 3 kept their promise and killed the minimum wage bill passed by House Republicans on July 29. The blockage of the minimum wage bill was the second time in as many years that Democrats stuck a legislative finger in the eye of black Americans. Senate Democrats on April 1, 2004, blocked passage of a bill to renew the 1996 welfare reform law that was pushed by Republicans and vetoed twice by President Clinton before he finally signed it. Since the welfare reform law expired in September 2002, Congress had passed six extensions, and the latest expired on June 30, 2004. Opposed by the Democrats are school choice opportunity scholarships that would help black children get out of failing schools and Social Security reform, even though blacks on average lose $10,000 in the current system because of a shorter life expectancy than whites (72.2 years for blacks vs. 77.5 years for whites).

Democrats have been running our inner-cities for the past 30 to 40 years, and blacks are still complaining about the same problems. More than $7 trillion dollars have been spent on poverty programs since Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty with little, if any, impact on poverty. Diabolically, every election cycle, Democrats blame Republicans for the deplorable conditions in the inner-cities, then incite blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans.

In order to break the Democrats' stranglehold on the black vote and free black Americans from the Democrat Party's economic plantation, we must shed the light of truth on the Democrats. We must demonstrate that the Democrat Party policies of socialism and dependency on government handouts offer the pathway to poverty, while Republican Party principles of hard work, personal responsibility, getting a good education and ownership of homes and small businesses offer the pathway to prosperity.

Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death

No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the House. But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve. This is no time for ceremony. The questing before the House is one of awful moment to this country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery; and in proportion to the magnitude of the subject ought to be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.

Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.

I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House. Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received? Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet. Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort. I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the British ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted? Let us not, I beseech you, sir, deceive ourselves. Sir, we have done everything that could be done to avert the storm which is now coming on. 235 years later and the threat to Liberty is a little closer to home...

This WHOLE speech seems so applicable to what is happening today! Who would have thought that 235 years later it would be VERY relevant to current events in our OWN government, not simply one across the sea! There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Without a doubt the most important and significant legal action in the United States this week, is Dr. Orly Taitz's Letter to Eric Holder, sent today, demanding that he institute Quo Warranto proceedings against Barack Hussein Obama in the District Court of Washington, D.C.. The importance of this letter is the fact that the quo warranto provisions of the District of Columbia Code provide that a 3rd party may institute a quo warranto action if the U.S. Attorney General fails to respond within 3 months to his request.
Dr. Orly Taitz wrote Holder on March 1st. In her letter, published today at her website, she demands that either he take action himself, or that her plaintiffs be granted ex-relator status to proceed in the name of the United States of America, as the D.C. code allows. Quo warranto is a legal action whereby a plaintiff formally demands proof that the holder of an office, holds it lawfully, and if he does not, is empowered by the court to remove him from it. The Code of the Disctrict of Columbia contains provisions for quo warranto, in such cases as the usurpation of any federal office exercised within the district. Quo warranto can be used against Barack Hussein Obama because he is not a natural born citizen, and thus does not enjoy the Constitutional immunities of that office.

Dr. Taitz's letter reads in full:
Dear Mr. Holder,
On March 1st on behalf of my clients I have submitted to you a request to file Quo Warranto against Mr. Barack Hussein Obama.
The request was filed due to following troubling facts:
1.   According to a number of licensed investigators National Databases show Mr. Obama using as many as 39 different Social Security numbers, which included the numbers of deceased individuals and numbers never assigned.
2.   Number 042-68-4425 that Mr. Obama used for most of his life and is currently using while residing in the White House, is a number assigned to an individual born in 1890, who resided in the state of Connecticut and this Social Security number was issued in the state of Connecticut where Mr. Obama never resided.
3.   One of the leading forensic experts in the country Ms. Sandra Ramsey Lines has prepared an affidavit, stating that Mr. Obama's short version Certification of Life Birth cannot be treated as genuine without seeing the original on file in the Health Department in HI.
4.   The state of Hawaii since 1911 had in its statutes a provision allowing Foreign born children of Hawaiian residents of get Hawaiian Birth Certificates( currently statute 338-17) and currently statute 338-5 allows one to get a birth certificate based on a statement of one relative only without any corroborating evidence from the hospital.
5.   In spite of over 100 law suits filed around the country and 12 Citizen Grand Jury indictments Mr. Obama refused to sign a consent to unseal his original birth certificate currently sealed in the Health Department of the state of Hawaii and all the other vital records.
6.   Ms. Chiuomi Fukino, Director of the Health Department of the State of Hawaii has provided a statement that there is a document on file in Hawaii, however she refused to provide any information, as to what document is on file: whether it is a Birth Certificate given to a foreign born child of Hawaiian resident, whether it is an amended Birth certificate, obtained when Mr. Obama was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather. She refused to answer any questions as to whether his birth certificate was obtained based on a proper hospital birth certificate or based on a statement of one of his relatives only, which needs to be corroborated
7.   Regardless of place of birth of Mr. Obama, since birth and until now Mr. Obama had a split allegiance. He had British citizenship at birth, Kenyan since age 2 and Indonesian since age 5. Allegiance to other Nations goes as a clear violation of the Natural citizenship clause of the article 2 section 1 of the Constitution.
8.   Under the Freedom of Information act 5 US 552, since no response was provided to numerous certified mail letters received by your office nine months ago, I demand a written response or Administrative hearing on the matter within 30 days. On behalf of my clients I demand an answer, as to when the Quo Warranto against Mr. Obama will be filed by the US Attorney General office, or in the alternative if the Attorney General office refuses to file Quo Warranto, I demand an ex-relator status for my clients to proceed with the Quo Warranto action against Mr.. Obama in the DC court or the Supreme Court of the United States.

Imagine this. At a time of political turmoil, a charismatic, telegenic new leader arrives virtually out of nowhere. He offers a message of hope and reconciliation based on compromise and promises to marshal technology for a better future that will include universal health care.

The news media swoons in admiration -- one simpering anchorman even shouts at a reporter who asks a tough question: "Why don't you show some respect?!" The public is likewise smitten, except for a few nut cases who circulate batty rumors on the Internet about the leader's origins and intentions. The leader, undismayed, offers assurances that are soothing, if also just a tiny bit condescending: "Embracing change is never easy."

So, does that sound like anyone you know? Oh, wait -- did I mention the leader is secretly a totalitarian space lizard who's come here to eat us?

Welcome to ABC's "V," the most fascinating and bound to be the most controversial new show of the fall television season. Nominally a rousing sci-fi space opera about alien invaders bent on the conquest (and digestion) of all humanity, it's also a barbed commentary on Obamamania that will infuriate the president's supporters and delight his detractors.

"We're all so quick to jump on the bandwagon," observes one character. "A ride on the bandwagon, it sounds like fun. But before we get on, let us at least make sure it is sturdy."

The bandwagon in this case is conspicuously saucer-shaped. "V" starts with the arrival of a couple of dozen ships from outer space, piloted by creatures who look like humans except a lot prettier. "Don't be frightened," says their luminously beautiful leader Anna (Morena Baccarin, "Serenity"). "We mean no harm."

The aliens -- who become known as V's, for visitors -- quickly enthrall their wide-eyed human hosts.

A handful of dissidents hold out against the rapturous reception given the V's. Some are simply uneasy, such as the youthful priest Father Jack (Joel Gretsch, "The 4400"), who sharply criticizes the Vatican's embrace of the V's as divine creations: "Rattlesnakes are God's creatures too."

With or without the political sheen, "V" is sweeping television storytelling at its best. Whether you choose to view it as a blood-and-guts war story, a spy thriller (unlike the original show, these V's are perfect replicas of humans, so you never really know who might be sitting beside you at the bar), a high-stakes family drama (as households divide over the intentions of the V's), a religious allegory (the V's make a crippled man walk, filling up churches again) or just a sci-fi throwback to the days of "Earth vs. the Flying Saucers" and "The Thing," "V" is irresistible. This bandwagon is definitely worth jumping on.

This election today, all of these elections are precisely why Obama and everybody wanted to get this health care done before the August recess, so that they'd be able to go to these elections and claim some big achievement, but they were unable to do that and if these elections go total Republican today, it should be a nail in the coffin of Obamacare. This is what they knew all along. I said on Fox News Sunday, every day I get up and I feel like I'm in the trenches of a war. No bullets being fired, but it's just every day you get up and there is another assault on liberty and freedom and the founding of this country, every day. It never stops. So people have been asking me for my predictions.

Now the predictions. I'm not going to predict the races. I'm going to predict the media to you, because I've already got examples of it in the audio sound bite roster here and a couple of news stories. The media tonight and tomorrow are going to be working hard, my friends, to deliver you not the news but Obama talking points about this election as in ABC Radio News just 15 minutes ago: White House insisting that these governor's races should not be seen as judgment on the White House. That's ABC falling right in line, CNN has, too. First, there's Virginia. Whatever the vote totals in Virginia, the State-Controlled Media will report that the turnout was not as big as expected, that the vote for the Republicans and against the Democrats was not as big as expected, and besides, everybody knew that the Republicans would win. It's no surprise. The White House even knew it. Why, the White House threw this guy Creigh Deeds under the bus a couple weeks ago. The White House knew he ran a lousy campaign.

You could just see this coming, mark my words. We knew that the Republicans would win because the Democrat governor was so poor, he was so inept, he dismissed early offers by the Obama team for help, he was a goner from the moment the general election began. So the State-Controlled Media will say Virginia stands for nothing, just ignore it. I predict to you that will be the outcome; that will be the media spin. I know these people, folks, I know them. Epic new spending and taxes, pricier insurance, rationed care, dishonest accounting: The Pelosi health bill has it all.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reportedly told fellow Democrats that she's prepared to lose seats in 2010 if that's what it takes to pass ObamaCare, and little wonder. The health bill she unwrapped last Thursday, which President Obama hailed as a "critical milestone," may well be the worst piece of post-New Deal legislation ever introduced.

In a rational political world, this 1,990-page runaway train would have been derailed months ago. With spending and debt already at record peacetime levels, the bill creates a new and probably unrepealable middle-class entitlement that is designed to expand over time. Taxes will need to rise precipitously, even as ObamaCare so dramatically expands government control of health care that eventually all medicine will be rationed via politics.

Yet at this point, Democrats have dumped any pretense of genuine bipartisan "reform" and moved into the realm of pure power politics as they race against the unpopularity of their own agenda. The goal is to ram through whatever income-redistribution scheme they can claim to be "universal coverage." The result will be destructive on every level—for the health-care system, for the country's fiscal condition, and ultimately for American freedom and prosperity.

•The spending surge. The Congressional Budget Office figures the House program will cost $1.055 trillion over a decade, which while far above the $829 billion net cost that Mrs. Pelosi fed to credulous reporters is still a low-ball estimate. Most of the money goes into government-run "exchanges" where people earning between 150% and 400% of the poverty level—that is, up to about $96,000 for a family of four in 2016—could buy coverage at heavily subsidized rates, tied to income. The government would pay for 93% of insurance costs for a family making $42,000, 72% for another making $78,000, and so forth.

At least at first, these benefits would be offered only to those whose employers don't provide insurance or work for small businesses with 100 or fewer workers. The taxpayer costs would be far higher if not for this "firewall"—which is sure to cave in when people see the deal their neighbors are getting on "free" health care. Mrs. Pelosi knows this, like everyone else in Washington.

Even so, the House disguises hundreds of billions of dollars in additional costs with budget gimmicks. It "pays for" about six years of program with a decade of revenue, with the heaviest costs concentrated in the second five years. The House also pretends Medicare payments to doctors will be cut by 21.5% next year and deeper after that, "saving" about $250 billion. ObamaCare will be lucky to cost under $2 trillion over 10 years; it will grow more after that.

• Expanding Medicaid, gutting private Medicare. All this is particularly reckless given the unfunded liabilities of Medicare—now north of $37 trillion over 75 years. Mrs. Pelosi wants to steal $426 billion from future Medicare spending to "pay for" universal coverage. While Medicare's price controls on doctors and hospitals are certain to be tightened, the only cut that is a sure thing in practice is gutting Medicare Advantage to the tune of $170 billion. Democrats loathe this program because it gives one of out five seniors private insurance options.

As for Medicaid, the House will expand eligibility to everyone below 150% of the poverty level, meaning that some 15 million new people will be added to the rolls as private insurance gets crowded out at a cost of $425 billion. A decade from now more than a quarter of the population will be on a program originally intended for poor women, children and the disabled.

Even though the House will assume 91% of the "matching rate" for this joint state-federal program—up from today's 57%—governors would still be forced to take on $34 billion in new burdens when budgets from Albany to Sacramento are in fiscal collapse. Washington's budget will collapse too, if anything like the House bill passes.

• European levels of taxation. All told, the House favors $572 billion in new taxes, mostly by imposing a 5.4-percentage-point "surcharge" on joint filers earning over $1 million, $500,000 for singles. This tax will raise the top marginal rate to 45% in 2011 from 39.6% when the Bush tax cuts expire—not counting state income taxes and the phase-out of certain deductions and exemptions. The burden will mostly fall on the small businesses that have organized as Subchapter S or limited liability corporations, since the truly wealthy won't have any difficulty sheltering their incomes.

This surtax could hit ever more earners because, like the alternative minimum tax, it isn't indexed for inflation. Yet it still won't be nearly enough. Even if Congress had confiscated 100% of the taxable income of people earning over $500,000 in the boom year of 2006, it would have only raised $1.3 trillion. When Democrats end up soaking the middle class, perhaps via the European-style value-added tax that Mrs. Pelosi has endorsed, they'll claim the deficits that they created made them do it.

Under another new tax, businesses would have to surrender 8% of their payroll to government if they don't offer insurance or pay at least 72.5% of their workers' premiums, which eat into wages. Such "play or pay" taxes always become "pay or pay" and will rise over time, with severe consequences for hiring, job creation and ultimately growth. While the U.S. already has one of the highest corporate income tax rates in the world, Democrats are on the way to creating a high structural unemployment rate, much as Europe has done by expanding its welfare states.

Meanwhile, a tax equal to 2.5% of adjusted gross income will also be imposed on some 18 million people who CBO expects still won't buy insurance in 2019. Democrats could make this penalty even higher, but that is politically unacceptable, or they could make the subsidies even higher, but that would expose the (already ludicrous) illusion that ObamaCare will reduce the deficit.

• The insurance takeover. A new "health choices commissioner" will decide what counts as "essential benefits," which all insurers will have to offer as first-dollar coverage. Private insurers will also be told how much they are allowed to charge even as they will have to offer coverage at virtually the same price to anyone who applies, regardless of health status or medical history.

The cost of insurance, naturally, will skyrocket. The insurer WellPoint estimates based on its own market data that some premiums in the individual market will triple under these new burdens. The same is likely to prove true for the employer-sponsored plans that provide private coverage to about 177 million people today. Over time, the new mandates will apply to all contracts, including for the large businesses currently given a safe harbor from bureaucratic tampering under a 1974 law called Erisa.

The political incentive will always be for government to expand benefits and reduce cost-sharing, trampling any chance of giving individuals financial incentives to economize on care. Essentially, all insurers will become government contractors, in the business of fulfilling political demands: There will be no such thing as "private" health insurance.

All of this is intentional, even if it isn't explicitly acknowledged. The overriding liberal ambition is to finish the work began decades ago as the Great Society of converting health care into a government responsibility. Mr. Obama's own Medicare actuaries estimate that the federal share of U.S. health dollars will quickly climb beyond 60% from 46% today. One reason Mrs. Pelosi has fought so ferociously against her own Blue Dog colleagues to include at least a scaled-back "public option" entitlement program is so that the architecture is in place for future Congresses to expand this share even further.

As Congress's balance sheet drowns in trillions of dollars in new obligations, the political system will have no choice but to start making cost-minded decisions about which treatments patients are allowed to receive. Democrats can't regulate their way out of the reality that we live in a world of finite resources and infinite wants. Once health care is nationalized, or mostly nationalized, medical rationing is inevitable—especially for the innovative high-cost technologies and drugs that are the future of medicine.

Mr. Obama rode into office on a wave of "change," but we doubt most voters realized that the change Democrats had in mind was making health care even more expensive and rigid than the status quo. Critics will say we are exaggerating, but we believe it is no stretch to say that Mrs. Pelosi's handiwork ranks with the Smoot-Hawley tariff and FDR's National Industrial Recovery Act as among the worst bills Congress has ever seriously contemplated.

In Washington, D.C. an old priest lay dying in the hospital. For years he had faithfully served the people of the nation's capital. He motioned for his nurse to come near.

"Yes, Father?" said the nurse.

"I would really like to see President Obama and Speaker Pelosi before I die", whispered the priest.

Can't Believe I Voted For Him

So today I was enjoying a nice lunch-break and as I was sitting in the booth, minding my own business, I heard something that got my attention.
Behind me sat some business men that were definitely from the New England area, this was obvious from their mannerisms and method of speech, both of which I am very familiar with. As I sat there I heard them mention the current "buzz word" ... OBAMA! So I decided to quit minding my own business and listen up. I listened and heard them talking about current news and policy and gathered enough information to tell they were not conservative or republican, however they said something that surprised me. They said, "He is accusing everyone else of breaking some so called rules, yet he is breaking every rule in the book and then some! I cannot believe i voted for this J.A." (you can fill in the missing letters...haha) I listened to them talk a little more and just found it amazing to hear these people, who had at one time supported the president, completely against everything that he is currently doing and they went on to discuss how he is destroying the democratic party and more! Wow!

Just goes to show you that there are some intelligent democrats out there ;) ... and if things keep going south for Obama I think that we will see many people turning from extreme liberalism and moving towards more moderate and conservative ideals. I see a political realignment on the horizon!

Last night I watched a speech that made me sick. I watched a man who tried to seduce his way into the minds of the American public. I guess he figures "That's what got me this far, may as well continue doing it!" However, I have faith in the intelligence of the American people, granted my faith is tried daily, but I continue to have faith that Americans WILL wake up to these continuing lies. Many days I find myself wondering if I am the only sane one out there. I go places and hear people talk about how wonderful it is going to be when the government gives us free healthcare and such. The thing is these people have been played. They've allowed the carefully worded slogans of the left extremists to taint their ideas of political policies. "Healthcare for All"..."Committed to providing healthcare for every single American!"... Oh, the list goes on.
The left will deny this, but I am confident they know exactly what they are doing! They word these phrases and their speeches in such a way that the uneducated society hears "Free Healthcare." Those on the poorer end of society (I am not saying every single poor person is this way, those I am speaking about are the entitlement mentality groups) that have been taught that the government owes them and that the government is there for the sole purpose of taking from the "rich", American's who have actually worked hard to get to where they are today, and giving them a check for doing absolutely nothing but staying home and having babies! There is a whole group of society that has been blindly enslaved by the liberal left. They were deceived into believing that the government was helping them by giving them government housing, food stamps, checks for unemployment and for single mothers, etc but in reality the people who did this were doing it to enslave an entire race of people that had gained their freedom, but in a newer more stealthy form of slavery. Gone are the iron shackles, now replaced with shackles to the mind and soul. The people who exist in this modern day form of slavery have been trapped and dumbed-down. They see no future for themselves and no way out of this cyclical society that they were born into. I believe that there are evil people in power who have tried to "brainwash" an entire demographic of society in an effort to gain power and now they are trying to take steps towards ultimate power. By the phrasing of slogans they have created a mass that believes the government will give them every single thing they want, they have allowed themselves to be bribed by their own money. As Alexis de Tocqueville said, "The America Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money." Well, right now we find a republic that is teetering on that very thing, we have allowed people to enter positions of power and bribe the public. However, this uneducated mass is not really listening to what is being said beneath these “cute” slogans.

"Healthcare for Everyone" is NOT free healthcare; this is simply the dismantling of private medicine and the government takeover of the private sector. Yes, I know Obama says you will have an option, but the point is once the "public option" is available it WILL destroy the private sector! As I listened to Obama speak last night, I heard some things that really stood out along these lines. He made statements that don't really line up with these individuals' view of "Healthcare for All" because you WILL have to pay for healthcare and the "public option" really isn’t an option according to what Obama is saying, calling it that just makes it sound better. The "public option" in reality will be forced on every single American and if you are not covered you will be punished and be forced to have coverage, even if you can't afford it! Ah, yes I can hear it now, the screams of the liberal left, "You are using fear and scare tactics!" Oh, but wait this is not what the conservatives are saying, no it is the "Almighty One", "Savior of Us All" that is saying these things in a Presidential Address. You will have to pay! You will be FORCED to have coverage!!!! If you still don't believe me, read the following excerpt from President Obama's speech:

"Now, even if we provide these affordable options, there may be those -- especially the young and the healthy -- who still want to take the risk and go without coverage. There may still be companies that refuse to do right by their workers by giving them coverage. The problem is, such irresponsible behavior costs all the rest of us money. If there are affordable options and people still don't sign up for health insurance, it means we pay for these people's expensive emergency room visits. If some businesses don't provide workers health care, it forces the rest of us to pick up the tab when their workers get sick, and gives those businesses an unfair advantage over their competitors. And unless everybody does their part, many of the insurance reforms we seek -- especially requiring insurance companies to cover preexisting conditions -- just can't be achieved.
And that's why under my plan, individuals will be required to carry basic health insurance -- just as most states require you to carry auto insurance. (Applause.) Likewise -- likewise, businesses will be required to either offer their workers health care, or chip in to help cover the cost of their workers. There will be a hardship waiver for those individuals who still can't afford coverage, and 95 percent of all small businesses, because of their size and narrow profit margin, would be exempt from these requirements. (Applause.) But we can't have large businesses and individuals who can afford coverage game the system by avoiding responsibility to themselves or their employees. Improving our health care system only works if everybody does their part.
And while there remain some significant details to be ironed out, I believe -- (laughter) -- I believe a broad consensus exists for the aspects of the plan I just outlined: consumer protections for those with insurance, an exchange that allows individuals and small businesses to purchase affordable coverage, and a requirement that people who can afford insurance get insurance.
And I have no doubt that these reforms would greatly benefit Americans from all walks of life, as well as the economy as a whole. Still, given all the misinformation that's been spread over the past few months, I realize -- (applause) -- I realize that many Americans have grown nervous about reform. So tonight I want to address some of the key controversies that are still out there.
Some of people's concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost. The best example is the claim made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but by prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Now, such a charge would be laughable if it weren't so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple. (Applause.)"

First off, if these people don't "choose" to be covered under the public option, then when they get sick it burdens the taxpayers into having to pay their expensive medical bills? Well, if they choose the public option, aren’t we (the tax payers) paying their expensive medicals bills anyway? I mean that is what it would be, so what is the big deal? What is the difference? I'll tell you what the big deal is, the big deal is that these socialists in office are hungry for power and by slowly blinding us to their attempts to seize ultimate power they have now risen to a position at which they are reaching to make one of their greatest attempts to seize power in the history of the United States!

Secondly, the accusation that certain people (aka conservatives) have made “bogus” claims and are trying “to kill reform at any cost” is complete lunacy itself! The conservative and moderate media and political leaders are not trying to kill reform, they are trying to stop a coup d’état. They are the TRUE warriors of freedom and liberty, not the un-American, sadistic humans they have been described to be. When these word by Obama pierced my ears I instantly felt my temperature rising as I thought to myself, “there are people in this country, right down the road from my house, who believe every single drop of poison that is coming out of this man’s mouth, and they are lapping it all up, not realizing that it is slowly killing them and their liberty!”

Lately, I find that no matter where I go, my views are seen as hate-filled and fear-mongering, yet the very things I and those who support the constitution are being accused of are in fact the very tactics that the left is using and people are so blinded to the truth that they can’t even seen what is right before them. I feel like Jefferson when he said, “My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!” I just pray that America wakes up before it is too late, I pray that the sunset of liberty, freedom, and democracy does not take place on our watch but that it burns brightly, so that our children, and our children’s children WILL know what it is like in an America that is free!

You have to be kidding me! I am currently sitting here watching the most powerful man in the United States speaking in Cincinnati, OH. He accuses the other people (us conservatives) of using scare tactics, yet he follows that up by using his own scare tactics about people dying without coverage, skyrocketing insurance fees, etc! THE PRESIDENT: Please, everybody have a seat. Thank you. Well, it is my great pleasure to host all of you here at the White House to mark this special occasion -- Ramadan Kareem.

I want to say that I'm deeply honored to welcome so many members of the diplomatic corps, as well as several members of my administration and distinguished members of Congress, including the first two Muslims to serve in Congress -- Keith Ellison and Andre Carson. Where are they? (Applause.)

Just a few other acknowledgements I want to make. We have Sen. Richard Lugar here, who's our ranking member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Where is Dick Lugar? There he is. (Applause.) Rep. John Conyers, chairman of the Judiciary Committee. (Applause.) Rep. Rush Holt is here. Thank you, Rush. (Applause.) Have we found you a seat, Rush? (Laughter.)

For well over a billion Muslims, Ramadan is a time of intense devotion and reflection. It's a time of service and support for those in need. And it is also a time for family and friends to come together in a celebration of their faith, their communities, and the common humanity that all of us share. It is in that spirit that I welcome each and every one of you to the White House.

Tonight's iftar is a ritual that is also being carried out this Ramadan at kitchen tables and mosques in all 50 states. Islam, as we know, is part of America. And like the broader American citizenry, the American Muslim community is one of extraordinary dynamism and diversity -- with families that stretch back generations and more recent immigrants; with Muslims of countless races and ethnicities, and with roots in every corner of the world.

Indeed, the contribution of Muslims to the United States are too long to catalog because Muslims are so interwoven into the fabric of our communities and our country. American Muslims are successful in business and entertainment; in the arts and athletics; in science and in medicine. Above all, they are successful parents, good neighbors and active citizens.

So on this occasion, we celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan, and we also celebrate how much Muslims have enriched America and its culture -- in ways both large and small. And with us here tonight, we see just a small sample of those contributions. Let me share a few stories with you briefly.

Elsheba Khan's son, Kareem, made the ultimate sacrifice for his country when he lost his life in Iraq. Kareem joined the military as soon as he finished high school. He would go on to win the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, along with the admiration of his fellow soldiers. In describing her son, Elsheba said, "He always wanted to help any way that he could."

Tonight, he's buried alongside thousands of heroes in Arlington National Cemetery. A crescent is carved into his grave, just as others bear the Christian cross or the Jewish star. These brave Americans are joined in death as they were in life -- by a common commitment to their country and the values that we hold dear.

One of those values is the freedom to practice your religion -- a right that is enshrined in the 1st Amendment of the Constitution. Nashala Hearn, who joins us from Muskogee, Okla., took a stand for that right at an early age. When her school district told her that she couldn't wear the hijab, she protested that it was a part of her religion.

The Department of Justice stood behind her, and she won her right to practice her faith. She even traveled to Washington to testify before Congress. Her words spoke to a tolerance that is far greater than mistrust -- when she first wore her headscarf to school, she said, "I received compliments from the other kids."

Another young woman who has thrived in her school is Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir. She's not even 5'5'' -- where's Bilqis? Right here. Stand up, Bilqis, just so that we -- (laughter) -- I want everybody to know -- she's got heels on. She's 5'5'' -- Bilqis broke Rebecca Lobo's record for the most points scored by any high school basketball player in Massachusetts history. (Applause.)

She recently told a reporter, "I'd like to really inspire a lot of young Muslim girls if they want to play basketball. Anything is possible. They can do it too." As an honor student, as an athlete on her way to Memphis, Bilqis is an inspiration not simply to Muslim girls -- she's an inspiration to all of us.

Of course, we know that when it comes to athletes who have inspired America, any list would include the man known simply as The Greatest. And while Muhammad Ali could not join us tonight, it is worth reflecting upon his remarkable contributions, as he's grown from an unmatched fighter in the ring to a man of quiet dignity and grace who continues to fight for what he believes -- and that includes the notion that people of all faiths holds things in common.

I love this quote. A few years ago, he explained this view -- and this is part of why he's The Greatest -- saying, "Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams -- they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do -- they all contain truths."

They all contain truths. Among those truths are the pursuit of peace and the dignity of all human beings. That must always form the basis upon which we find common ground. And that is why I am so pleased that we are joined tonight not only by so many outstanding Muslim Americans and representatives of the diplomatic corps, but people of many faiths -- Christians, Jews and Hindus -- along with so many prominent Muslims.

Together, we have a responsibility to foster engagement grounded in mutual interest and mutual respect. And that's one of my fundamental commitments as president, both at home and abroad. That is central to the new beginning that I've sought between the United States and Muslims around the world. And that is a commitment that we can renew once again during this holy season.

So tonight, we celebrate a great religion and its commitment to justice and progress. We honor the contributions of America's Muslims, and the positive example that so many of them set through their own lives. And we rededicate ourselves to the work of building a better and more hopeful world.

So thanks to all of you for taking the time to be here this evening. I wish you all a very blessed Ramadan. And with that, I think we can start a feast. I don't know what's on the menu, but I'm sure it will be good. (Laughter.) Thank you very much, everybody. (Applause.)

According to Melissa Lasky, a writer with The Huffington Post, one can only wonder want Mary Jo Kepechne would think about the passing of this liberal saint. Mary Jo was a woman who's life was cut short because she got into the car with a young senator, who had a alcohol problem, one fateful night. A scared man left this bright young woman, with her whole life ahead of her, to die while he fled the scene instead of calling the authorities. Yet, according to Lasky, Kepechne may have, after all, enjoyed dying for the cause of launching Ted Kennedy's career!
Well, heck why don't liberal women of the world unite and sacrifice themselves to launch the careers of more "Lions of the Senate!!!" If good ol' Mary Jo can do it, so can YOU!

Just the thought of this is absurd! The closing statement in this Huffington-Puffington article, "Who knows -- maybe (Kepechne)'d feel it was worth it." just really blew me away. This was low, even for a liberal. Who comes up with such a thing? A young woman, who'd not yet reached all that she was destined for, would have felt that laying down her life on the altar of liberalism was all worth it to launch one man's career, a man who finds humor in her sacrifice and enjoys a good "Chappaquidick joke" now and then?!?!

Well, if you ever doubt your influence in the world you can always go find yourself a young Senator with an alcohol problem to give you a ride, and who knows you in the end you may realize it was all worth it!

9/11 a National Day of Service?

Well Gee Obama, why don't you go up to those who lost loved ones in that catastrophic morning and slap them right in the face! You are just trying to make us forget what happened that day, but I for one haven't forgotten the tormenting images ingrained in my head as I saw those towers fall and fear rushed through my body as I wondered if my world would ever be the same!

How true! Does this remind you of things that have been going on in the US government recently? Take over after take over ...= BIG GOVERNMENT!!!! I wish we had a good handful of people as intelligent as the Founding Fathers, with the insight these men had, in the leadership of this nation today!!!

Someone recently stated on a post of mine: "The government takeover lately is a result of the people of the nation being too greedy and stupid to run things themselves so the government has to step in and rescue us all before the company goes to pot. I think the decisions that have been made lately are getting us out of the mess that was created by the last administration giving big ... Read Morebusiness everything they wanted and now us tax paying citizens are paying for it. Sometimes you have to have someone step in and grab the thing by the reins and make it all ok and that is what is happening right now. The government involvement as of late is rescuing the country from it's own stupidity and greed."

All I have to say to that is that the so called "Stimulus Plan" was supposed to keep us under 8% unemployment; however, now, we are at 10% unemployment! We are going from what was supposed to be 9 trillion dollars in National debt, to 11 trillion dollars in debt! The unfunded debt that is out there right now is 644 trillion dollars of debt!!!!! Because of the actions the government is taking youand every member of your family, including children, already owe the government almost $40k a piece and are liable for nearly $192k each!!!!! Your children haven't even started working yet, and they are already almost $40k in debt and are liable for $192k, because of the government taking the "reins and making it all ok" ... Big Business is only a producer, and government is only a consumer that is Economics 101 for you. The private industry stimulates the economy, but when the government begins to limit the production of the private industry they WILL destroy the economy! If you have ever read The Communist Manifesto and the writings of Karl Marx, Lenin, and Stalin, you would see that the very things you are purporting line up with their doctrine! Having read these literary works and the propaganda of the countries at that time, I can tell you for a fact that the CURRENT administration is following the examples of some of the greatest Communist and Fascist leaders in the history of the world! They sweep in when the country is “struggling” financially, make things sound even worse than they are and slowly start taking over the private sector in an effort to “rescue” the country. All the leading Communist countries started out by “rescuing” the country from the “Big Bad Businesses” and taking over the automobile industry, healthcare, and major corporations … Sound Familiar? When the government begins its consumption of your freedoms, you lose some of the ones you hold most dear. To put it in perspective for you—you won’t be able to give or hold the opinions that you are currently free to voice. Hitler began as a private and ended up as the most infamous ruler the world has ever known. It all begins with small steps down a very slippery slope.
…And anytime the government takes the “reins” it NEVER relinquishes its power—EVER!

As I sit in my class I think to myself how ignorant my countrymen are, they haven't a clue about politics or anything for that matter. How can you live in a country and not really understand it's history, values, or foundation? All they see is what the government can give them...

The Following is a conversation between myself and the person who posted the previous video, I have changed names because I do not want to cause strife, I simply want to present the ideas that have bound so many Christians.

aDaughterOfYaHWeH: "i don’t want to step on anyone's toes... but John Piper isnt right about the prosperity gospel... i mean there are some people that are on the extreme end of things but he is wrong about what those people preach he has misinterpreted it... there is no such things as "the prosperity gospel" it is the word of God that’s what i follow... God's word is FULL of blessings, promises, health, wealth (doesn't just mean money), Joy, etc ... not Destruction, grief, and pain... Jesus said that "the Thief comes to Kill, Steal, and Destroy, but i have come that you might have LIFE and have it more abundantly." I put things in my life into 4 categories - Kill, Steal, Destroy, and Life... the loss of a loved one is not in the latter column it falls under the responsibilities of the thief... and Job, the person people love to use as an extreme example of "suffering for God" got not just what he had before back but got more than DOUBLE what he had before the thief stole from him back ... God blessed him abundantly...
Anyway... sorry Alicia it just bugs me when people make out the people that teach the Word of God to be the spawn of satan... the church is just so blinded today... and just wanted to let you know, dont believe everything people tell you about the "health, wealth, etc" group... my dad is a preacher and i can tell you he is not the spawn of satan he preaches the Word of God and these preachers are not what people try to make them out to be... dont listen to everything you hear... im one of those "health, wealth, prosperity" people.... but i dont call myself that... im a WORD person.... it just makes me cry how people have been so deceived about this and told that it is from satan.... is following the word of God of satan? ... "

Friend: "First off thanks for the message! I understand your feelings about it. I'm guessing you saw the video I put on my friend's wall last night? We started talking about Joel Osteen and I opened up about not agreeing with the gospel he preaches down in Texas. I feel like I've been saturated for years with Joel's smile and promise for success as a Christian. We talked about how Joel deliberately preaches the good news of Christ centered on blessings or prosperity. Is being blessed what the Gospel is all about? I'm not saying (and I don't believe John Piper is saying this either) that God does not bless those who come to Him, whether in this life or eternally. But it's the fact that he and other pastors I've listened to focus on this and not much else when making a case for Christ. I've heard them say, come to Christ today and you won't have problems anymore, you'll be victorious in all you attempt, you won't have sickness, God will make you successful in life, and so many other things. That is what bugs me.

And You're right in saying that God's Word promises eternal joy (not the same as happiness) to those who are obedient to Him, and over and over He says that His followers will be blessed. But blessed according to the way we desire to be blessed? The Bible says we are faint of heart, not naturally good and that we're not naturally selfless but rather self-absorbed - all a part of our sin nature. John Piper believes that by "blessings" God does not mean the things we desire for ourselves but rather what He wants to give us so that in turn we might use those blessings to give Him glory. Things that He has perfectly ordained, not stuff that He throws at us because we've been faithful in our actions. I do not believe in any way that by opening my life to Christ last summer I was doing so because I thought God would make me successful or that He would bless me by taking my problems and pain away. I did it because He is Truth and how could I refuse that? This is what I feel John Piper is getting at. What he is against is the teaching that authentic religious belief and behavior in a person will result in material prosperity. He feels that too many are teaching materialism disguised as theology. I feel the same way. I believe that too many are sending out a false message that coming to Christ will bring you material blessings. Then what happens to the least of these (Matt. 5:40) or the "poorest of the poor" Piper mentions in his message? What they are hearing is a gospel preaching that they will no longer be in their distressed position if they just become Christian. THAT is what John Piper is against. Not that blessings don't come to us, but that blessings have no bearing on our moment of salvation nor should that be the bribe for us to become Christian. I feel that people who consistently preach that blessings are the point of salvation are not speaking God's Word, and that's what John Piper is getting at.

Take a look at David's psalms. He went through severe depression and yet, Paul describes him as a man after God's own heart in the book of Acts. The prosperity gospel teaches that if David placed his faith in Christ, he shouldn't be depressed. Were his blessings a measure of how pleased God was with him? He was cherished by God and yet God allowed Him to be as sad as he was - just look at the laments in his psalms! But was God glorified through David? Yes, time and time again. I feel like the prosperity gospel preached by Joel Osteen says that God does not want me to be sick, or to struggle or to have burdens. He says a Christian who has lots of faith will not have to endure these things. That is a huge reason the prosperity gospel is a turn off to me and why I agree with most of what Piper has to say on the issue. Because, obviously, I trust that Christ is sovereign and that He has a perfect plan for my life, and yet do I still deal with sickness, mental and physical? Do I still have struggles and problems? Of course I do!

So there is my issue with the prosperity gospel I am against and what Piper is talking about. Not saying that there aren't blessings to be had, but I feel like we have to be careful in how we attribute those blessings to say, our salvation. It's the materialism I feel like so many evangelists are obsessed about that really bugs me.

Phew... so I know that was a lot but I don't want you to think that I think you or your dad are the spawn of Satan, or that anyone who teaches that God gives freely to those who ask according to His good will are blasphemers and not reflecting God's Word. Definitely not true. The issue is where those blessings take effect, and point blank they should not be the reason we follow Christ nor should we not be satisfied until we are abundantly blessed. I really really hope I was able to explain myself a little better than John Piper's video conveyed - I would love to talk to you more about this if you want."

I don’t know who you’ve been listening to but I know the ministers I listen to (my dad, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Hagin, John Osteen, etc) don’t make promises that life will just be a utopia if you come to Christ, no when you come into the Kingdom you will still have to face the circumstances of the world and when you are serving God is when the storms come, not because God is trying you, but because Satan is trying to get you to quit and give up. (1 Cor. 4:12, 2 Cor. 4, 2, Timothy 3:12). Satan doesn’t want you to be out there with the knowledge of who you are in Christ and the authority that you have through Christ. (2 Cor. 2:14, Luke 10:17-20, Ephesians 6:10, Hebrews 2:14, 1 John 4:4, Acts 1:8, 1 John 5:4). He wants you to lie back and accept what he sends your way as just being from God; this is where the church has been so deceived. God is a GOOD God and he IS NOT a man that he should lie, he cannot go against His nature, if he did so he would be the same as the god of this world (Satan, 2 Corinthians 4:4), but I know He is not and I know what He has promised me in his word. (2 Cor. 1:20, John 8:2, Joshua 21:45, Galatians 3, 2 Peter 1:4, 2 Peter 2:24, Isaiah 8:17, Matt. 8:16-17, Job 36:11).Not only do I follow this because it’s what I was taught or “oh, that’s just your opinion” I follow it because it is God’s word and I have seen these promises in action! (Isaiah 1:19, Matt. 7:11) You may not believe that this is real and that ministers who promise health, wealth, etc are just giving people false hope, but if that is so then Bible is full of stories where people were given “false hope.” For example, in 1 Kings 17 the prophet Elijah is, by these arguments, giving a poor widow false hope in a time of famine. You may remember this Bible story; it is where the widow is about to cook the last meal for her and her son and then die, because it is all she has left – “So he went to Zarephath. As he arrived at the gates of the village, he saw a widow gathering sticks, and he asked her, “Would you please bring me a little water in a cup?” As she was going to get it, he called to her, “Bring me a bite of bread, too.” But she said, “I swear by the LORD your God that I don’t have a single piece of bread in the house. And I have only a handful of flour left in the jar and a little cooking oil in the bottom of the jug. I was just gathering a few sticks to cook this last meal, and then my son and I will die.” But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son. For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the LORD sends rain and the crops grow again!” So she did as Elijah said, and she and Elijah and her son continued to eat for many days. There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the LORD had promised through Elijah.” (1 Kings 17:10-16) Even later in this passage we see the fruits of her faith and sacrifice when her son dies, he is raised from the dead!
Just because you haven’t seen these things doesn’t mean they aren’t real, just as I have not seen your brain doesn’t mean it’s not real, that is why it’s called faith. (Hebrews 11). True faith trusts God, remaining unmoved when the storms of life come and when the thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy. (John 10:10). For example, remember the parable of the man who built his house upon the Rock? (Matt. 7:24-29). True faith knows that God is El Shaddai (Covenant name of God, literally translates meaning “the many breasted one”), the God who is more than enough, the God that meets all our needs! (Gen. 17:1, Gen. 28:3, Gen. 35:11, Gen 49:25, Exodus 6:2,3) Saying “God, whatever your will is let it be done..” doesn’t require faith if you are going to stand by and accept whatever comes your way as simply being God’s will, when it doesn’t even line up with the Word of God. How is that different than the world? The phrase “Que Sera, Sera” ring a bell? “Whatever will be, will be, the future is not ours to see…” that’s the world’s attitude; it shouldn’t be a Christian’s attitude towards life! But according to many unbiblical arguments by Christians that should be a “holy” Christian’s attitude. Now, when things come your way in the categories of death, destruction, etc you know that that is not of God and you have authority to stand firm and trust God that no matter what happens he WILL bring you out on top and Victorious! (1 Cor. 15:57). That is what the Bible teaches us and that is what these ministers teach, the Truth of God’s Word, not the religion that has just been accepted as truth.
As for David being a man after God’s own heart, yes he was. He dealt with depression? Yes, he did, however, God did not allow him to remain depressed, he was delivered from depression! (Psalms 40). That is what God desires, to deliver us from the burdens of life that weigh heavy on us. As for David being able to place his faith in Christ, well he couldn’t do that because Christ had not yet come into the world, we are under a new Covenant, we have the ability to pray in the name of JESUS, David didn’t have that opportunity so he couldn’t put his faith in Christ. (Jeremiah 31:31, 1 Cor. 11:25, 2 Cor. 3:6, Hebrews 8:8, Hebrews 8:13, Hebrews 9:15). Now, David wasn’t perfect, yes he was a man after God’s own heart, but he committed Adultery and Murder! The stories given to us in the Bible are given as examples, sometimes as warnings of what we should not allow ourselves to do. David’s life is a story of how bad decisions can cost you. David Chose to stay behind from the battle, which put him in the position to see Bathsheba bathing, he then Chose to fall into lust and Chose to sleep with her, and then Chose to cover up his infidelity by trying to get her husband to sleep with her so that people would think that She was bearing her husband’s child, when that failed he Chose to have her husband placed on the frontlines and killed. Because of all of these choices he was not allowed to build the temple. (2 Samuel 11). Did God do this to David? Was this God’s will or Divine plan for David? No, it wasn’t but David made the wrong decisions and it cost him the work of God. Now, David was a man after God’s own heart because David worshiped the Lord with all of his might he wrote psalms to the Lord and sang to the Lord. So, no the things David dealt with were not God’s will for David, they were a result of his choices and sins. (2 Samuel 12). As for us having a sin nature, that is the old man. The Bible says that we are a new creation, the old things have passed away and all things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17-21), so no I don’t have a “Sin Nature” that doesn’t line up with the Word. I gave up my “Sin Nature” when I asked Jesus into my heart, I was given a new nature, Christ was made sin so that I could be made the righteousness of God, the nature of Christ now resides on the inside of me!(2 Cor. 5:21, Galatians 2:20, Galatians 5:24) Now, we still have our fleshly desires that we have to control, but if we fill our spirit with the Word of God, our Spirit is Strong and we have control over the temptations of life that try to draw us astray. (Galatians 5:13-25).
The purpose of wealth, if you really listen to these ministers, is not for personal gain, but for reaching the World. “But thou shalt remember Jehovah thy God, that it is he who giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” (Deut. 8:18). It costs money to go on missions trips, it costs money to feed the poor, it costs money to reach the lost, it costs money to build churches, its costs money to build children’s homes in foreign countries and in the US. All of these things require “wealth” to get the job done. I don’t know how many times I have heard Kenneth Copeland say, “I am not attached to the money in my bank account. If God asked me today to take all my wealth and give it to someone, I wouldn’t hesitate! Its already His!” Not only does he say this he practices it. I can’t tell you how many times he and his ministry have purchased houses for people who lost theirs in a terrible disaster or how many times he has purchased tents for ministers in Africa or how many times he has reached out to other works of God and given financial aid and assistance as well as prayer! They helped buy a water filtration system, clothes, fabric for the Nuns who run the orphanage, and various other things this ministry needed, because God spoke to him and told him to do that, because they are blessed they are able to be a blessings and a light of the love of Christ to so many others just as they were for Los Mexicanitos Orphanage in Mexico City. How awesome is that to be the vessel through which God meets people’s needs and to see the look on their face as they praise God for meeting their needs beyond what they could even ask or think! (Ephesians 3:20) What a powerful way to reach people! That is the purpose of Wealth, not to see who has the biggest house or the most expensive car, but to reach the World! When you are operating in this way and with this attitude that is when the blessings are manifested in your life, because you have allowed yourself to put God’s Word first and thus opened the door for Him to bless your life so that you can bless others!
Why am I so confident that health, wealth, etc is for me as a believer? Because that is what God’s Word says, “Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified);To the end that through [their receiving] Christ Jesus, the blessing [promised] to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so that we through faith might [all] receive [the realization of] the promise of the [Holy] Spirit.” (Gal. 3:13-14)
What is the Curse? Read Deuteronomy 28. Here are a few selections from that passage…
"You shall not prosper in your ways."
"Locusts shall consume all your trees and the produce of your land."
"You shall be only oppressed and plundered continually, and no one shall save you."
"And they (the curses) shall be upon you for a sign and a wonder, and on your descendants forever. Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things."
"Therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of all things; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you."

What is the Blessing? Here are some verses from Deuteronomy 28 as well…
"And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you."
"The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow."
"The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you."
"And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath..."

Notice that sickness and disease is not listed anywhere as a blessing. Yet, it is listed as a curse. That means it's never God's will for you to have it--unless your conception of God is that of an abusive father. Unfortunately, lots of Christians think that way--and they sincerely believe they're walking in the "deeper spiritual life" by doing so.
Now, more specifically, what is the Blessing of Abraham? Well the Bible says that “Now Abraham was extremely rich in livestock and in silver and in gold…But Lot, who went with Abraham, also had flocks and herds and tents. Now the land was not able to nourish and support them so they could dwell together, for their possessions were too great for them to live together.” (Gen. 13: 2-6). "Assuredly I will bless you and bless you, I will increase you and increase you." (Hebrews 6:14).
“It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it…What the wicked fears will come upon him, But the desires of the righteous will be granted.” (Proverbs 10:22,24)
"If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasantness and joy.” (Job 36:11)

Well, I could go on but I really have other things to take care of and I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, however I don’t want to start a never ending argument about who is right and who is wrong, I simply wanted to send you a response based on the Word of God and not simply personal opinion. I know what the Bible says, and not only that I have seen it in action! I have seen people who came into our church with what looked like impossible debt that they couldn’t even tithe, I’ve seen them take hold of the message of Faith and the Word of God, begin to tithe and sow and rise up out of what looked like impossible circumstances to complete deliverance financially and also in other areas of life. “Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” (Malachi 3:10). I’ve seen people come into our church living in the projects in what was a family curse and cycle feeling like there was no escape for them and their children and watch them begin to put the word into action and rise up to where they now owning their own houses and cars and have put the days of lack behind them and have gone on to be a witness to others in those same circumstances! “And Jesus said unto them, "Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, `Remove hence to yonder place,' and it shall remove. And nothing shall be impossible unto you.” (Matt. 17:20) You can’t tell me that this isn’t real! I know it is, I’ve seen it with my own eyes in the Word and in action! Unless I find something contrary to this in the Bible (which I highly doubt that I will), I will continue to follow the Word of God and put my Faith in what He has said in HIS Word! So anyway this is what I know to be true and I’m not going to get into an argument, I will just continue to walk in love and live life according to the Word of God!
“Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 2)"

It is saddening to think that there are so many Christians who believe the way this friend of mine does, they are living life under the Curse, rather than under the Blessing. They present an image of Christianity that is not true to the Bible. Because of the image given by many of the christians today, the world sees christians as weak people who live life broken, depressed, sick, etc. and i mean, how is that different than how the world lives? So, if that is what Christianity is, well then you can keep it! I could live the exact same way not folliwing God, if that's true Christianity! But, thank God it is not! True Christianity is so different from what these people present! True Christianity causes you to be an overcomer! Victorious in EVERY walk of life! That is how true Christians live, not a life of suffering, poverty, sickness, and disease!

Many Shades of Gray?

In my walk of life I come into contact with people of various backgrounds, which affords me the opportunity to hear many different views, beliefs, and such so that I am able to be an educated individual in my outlook on certain subject matters, particularly faith and politics. I have been accused of presenting things rather one sided, but that is the problem with the current generation they believe that there are many shades of gray and that there is no such thing as black and white, that's the old way of thinking and we are now enlightened and view everyone as equal. Well that's great! We have finally arrived at a state where we are liberated and nothing can stop us from doing what we want! Free love and peace, what a wonderful concept. We have become such intelligent and evolved beings that we can do whatever the heck we want, when we want, and give into our animalistic lusts and its purely acceptable because its not wrong its purely a shade of gray. So what’s right for you is right for you and what’s wrong for me is wrong for me, right?

This sounds all fine and dandy, but what do you tell the 13-year-old girl lying in a hospital bed, completely withdrawn and silent because every time she moves she is immediately and constantly reminded of what was stolen from her by the blood and pain. She is reminded of the man, old enough to be her father, breathing hard in her ear as he held her down and ripped her open in order to get his sexual needs met. It was just a shade of gray for him, right? He can't help it that he likes younger girls, just like a man can't help it that he likes other men. We are all equally good and we all choose who we love whether its some one of the same sex, younger than us, older than us, etc. You can't tell some who they can and can't love, so therefore you can't tell this man that he can't love this little girl, if you do so you are close minded and you only see things black or white. So how do you comfort that poor little girl, "Sorry, honey he was just born that way. He can't help it, that is just who he is." I know this seems appalling, but if you truly believe that there is no definite right or wrong and that there are many shades of gray, then this is exactly what you end up with! If you believe that people who see things one sided are conservative, religious freaks of the older generation, then have fun trying to figure out where you finally draw the line, once you open the door to being "open-minded" and viewing things in shades of gray and believing that there is no such thing as right, but there are many views because people have different beliefs and what’s right for me may not be right for you, then there is no turning back... a society that harbors these beliefs is a utopia for criminals! They would really have no reason to follow any law, because law does not follow their view of right and wrong and they don’t see their actions as being unlawful. And if you really think about it, a society in which there is no right way of thinking is a lawless society and there would be no purpose in having laws for people to abide by!
This belief, known in today’s culture as open-mindedness, is actually better describe by intellectuals Moral Relativism. This is a slippery slope propagated by the godless, socialist political leaders and professors. Our universities have become the breeding grounds for this brainwashing, creating young people with minds full of mush! Who really and truly cannot think for themselves, yes they believe they can but they are doing nothing more than repeating what some professor in a class somewhere taught them.
So I ask you would you rather see things as black and white or would you rather start down the slippery slope of making exceptions and seeing shades of gray? The choice is yours to make, choose wisely!

Today's Children are under Attack!

Someone sent this to me and I must say that I couldn't state this any better.
Today's kids are under such an attack to compromise and to be "accepting" of others, but not just in a "walking in love way" in a way that completely violates the word of God! We have to many of the so called "seeker-friendly" churches, shoving the whole "walking in love" and "not judging people" down our throats... yes, we need to walk in love, but we need to follow the example that Jesus himself set before us... He walked in love by saving people from a path of destruction, He didn't say "you're ok just the way you are, go on living life just as you are because I love you" NO! He said "go and sin no more!!!!"... He threw the people out of the temple who were undoing the Holiness of the temple and were using it to do sinful acts, etc. Does this sound like the "love" that these "seeker-friendly" groups are propogating??
No, it doesn't. We need to be more like Jesus, save people from enternal damnation by telling them the TRUTH, not religious doctrine!!!! We should be moved by compassion, not "oh, let's accept everyone in our church no matter what life style they are living so that we can grow our numbers"... No, this is not what the church is supposed to be about, our hearts should cry out when we see a person living in sin and living a life style of sin that will destroy them we should want to help them, tell them the truth, save them from that path of destruction, Not who has the biggest church!.... you can accept the person with open arms of love, but hate the sin, because the sin is what will destroy that person you love! I believe that if you truly have a heart like God, you will be moved by compasion and "not be willing that any should perish, but that all that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).
So that was my opinion, now for this stuff i told you about earlier ... we need to pray for this next generation!

"Beware of the book, "Conversations with God." Dr. James Dobson talked about this book twice this week. It is devastating and parents and Christian schools need to be aware of this. These Books are being sold in the Scholastic Book Club. Two particular books, Conversations with God and Conversations with God for Teens, written by Neil D. Walsh, sound harmless enough by their titles alone. These books have been on the New York Times best sellers list for a number of weeks, and these publications make truth of the statement, "Don't judge a book by its cover/title." The author purports to answer various questions from kids using the "voice of God". However, the "answers" that he gives are not Bible-based and go against the very infallible word of God. For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks the question "Why am I a lesbian?" his answer is that she was born that way because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed, with blue eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and "celebrate" her differences. Another girls poses the question "I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?" His reply is, "Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong." Another question asks about God's forgiveness of sin. His reply - I do not forgive anyone because there is nothing to forgive. There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone, do not judge people. People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong, because the rule is "judge not lest ye be judged". And the list goes on. Not only are these books the false doctrine of devils, but in some instances even quote (in error) the Word of God. These books (and others like it) are being sold to school children (The Scholastic Book Club), and we need to be aware of what is being fed to our children. Our children are under attack, so I pray that you be sober and vigilant about teaching your kids the Word of God, and guarding their exposure to worldly mediums, because our adversary, the devil, roams about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). And how many of us know that lions usually hunt for the slowest, and weakest and YOUNGEST of its prey."

Many of you probably know my opinion on this subject, but i didn't want to just state my opinions i wanted to show you what the muslims actually believe... i personally know people in my church who were muslims about a year ago and came into the church and got saved and shared what they were taught as muslims and what happened when their families found out that they had become Christian.... anyway that's another story... but here are quotes directly from the Qur'an... decide for yourself....

Can't Hide Behind a Religious Mask

I love both of these two translations of the verses below. It really makes you evaluate your life and make sure nothing is out of place and it also sticks with you ... I've just really been thinking about this kind of stuff- it seems hypocrisy has become almost a thriving trend in some circles, i have seen so many young people become masters at being hypocrites- they are perfect Christians and then nights and weekends are their times to act like the rest of the world, violating the purity of their bodies that was given to them from God as a treasure to cherish and save for the right time but they have fallen into a trap of perverting something that is meant to be beautiful.
I know this is an extreme example. But on a smaller scale: backstabbing and gossiping about people and smiling to their face is just as bad, it is painting a picture that you are sweet and innocent when you and God both know that you are not! I am not judging anyone, i am not perfect, but nobody is, that is why we need Jesus, but we should try our best to exemplify Him through our speech and actions. He has commanded us to LOVE one another and if we love one another we won't violate someones purity, we won't hurt people by backstabbing and gossiping about them.... if we are walking in love we wont do anything to someone that we wouldn't want done to us! Anyway back to the scriptures... here they are:

The Love of GOD: How we, as Christians, should act.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NKJV

I wanted to start with these verses because they are basically the foundation for what I am writing. I think that today so many Christians miss such a basic message in the Bible~ the message of love. One of the commandments Jesus gave us was to love our neighbors, friends and enemies, as we love ourselves. But I have seen so many people put their personal opinions and beliefs above loving others, instead of having a reputation for being loving, kind, and honorable people, we are seen as uncaring, rude, hypocrites. This just breaks my heart.

Growing up as a Pastor's daughter I have seen people who appear to be mature Christians turn out to be so immature in areas such as love, they gossip about others, give off heirs, and make people feel inferior to them. This is not what God called us to do. We are to be a light to the world, and that doesn't mean having our name is bright Hollywood-like lights, no people are supposed to know that we are different by our actions not that we advertise that we are good godly Christians, but that we live it!!! This verse also tells us that Love is not rude. I have seen so many Christians behave so rudely in so many ways. Whether it is by ignoring someone because they don't want to talk to them, blowing someone off because of their personal problems, or by correcting the way someone speaks. I heard actor in a movie talking with another character and thought what a great biblical lesson you could use that for when talking about love not being rude. The actor had stated something to which the man asked something along the lines of whether or not he had finished college, he says "Why did I make a grammatical error?" the other man replies, "No, and even if you had I would not be so rude as to point it out." I found it truly amazing that even in a secular film you can see that the world does understand some ideas of what is proper and kind, when so many Christians don't have a clue about how to walk in love with others! I have seen people at Christian schools, churches, and other places treat people with such rudeness, by correcting the way they pronounce words, who's to say the correct way to say something, yes there are rules and stuff, but really people all over the country have their own way of speaking English, and people in England speak English differently than people in the US, Scotland, or Ireland. People all over the world have different ways of speaking. This is just one small example of how someone could be rude, there are many other ways and sadly Christians are the ones that I have seen acting this way more than others. I hate it that the Christian name has been stained by people who have refused to completely let go of their behavior and thinking prior to salvation, they cover it up with their spirituality but after time it comes out and many times damages the church.

Why do we have so many churches being split, people backsliding, people being angry with the Pastor and leaving the church?? It is because we have lost sight of one of the most important cornerstones of our faith; we have forgotten how to walk in LOVE with one another. We become selfish, arrogant, self-consumed, and forget that we are a reflection of Christ to this lost world. We have the responsibility of sharing the love of God with people, but how can we do that when we can't even share His love with our own brothers and sisters in Christ. I think we should all spend a little more time looking at our life and how we treat others, and correct where we are wrong so that we can touch more people and turn away less people.

Body: okay, so here's what I've been thinking lately.

"I was reading my Bible and I came across a part in Acts where Stephen was killed. I had read it before but it never registered to me. I was just in awe. Stephen was not afraid to do miracles even when people were opposing him. One of the reasons he was able to do these things was he was full of faith and he was full of the Holy Spirit. Another thing that amazes me is that even after he was arrested...he still preached to the very people who had the power to kill him. He condemned them in their sin of refusing Jesus and disobeying the law. For this they stoned him, but...here is what really gets me... Stephen asked the Lord to not count the sin against the men stoning him. (this is in Acts 6 and 7)

How great was Stephen's love and faith and strength through Jesus. Even as he was dying for his Savior he was full of love. Why can't we be more like Stephen? Instead of standing up to sinfulness...we have been backing down. Instead of telling to minorities who are against God and everything else Christian to shut up we take their junk. What is wrong with us? Why are we so scared? We need to rise up and take our stand. We need to take a stand on the Rock of our salvation. Why are we actually sanctioning homosexual marriages (when the Bible clearly is against this)...why are we allowing doctors to daily kill thousands of unborn children (when the Bible is also against this)...why are we allowing people to take away our freedoms? If we live in a free country then we should be free to speak our opinion. Why is it that Christians are the ones who have the hardest time in politics? Because there aren't enough Christians with enough back bone to stand up for what is right. I am encouraging everyone who calls himself a Christian and believes that the Bible is true in everything to take a stand no matter how small it will matter.
